We hebben lekker gegeten van een viertal prachtig verzorgde gerechten. Helaas weinig tot geen groenten, anders zou het helemaal top zijn geweest!
Gisteren, 5 okt., was de A27 afslag Maarssen dicht. Enorm druk en een omweg. Restaurant The Riverside. De gebouwen staan wel naast de rivier, maar vanuit het restaurant is het niet te zien. Leuk modern interieur, maar mist wat "soft furnishings" (gordijnen).

Er werd rekening gehouden met onze dieetvoorkeuren. De gerechten waren prachtig gepresenteerd en smaakten fantastisch. Het allerbelangrijkste was dat het eten en de borden warm waren, vooral de hoofdgerechten.
De service: we hadden meerdere obers en de bediening was vriendelijk, niet altijd even consequent, maar OK.
Heerlijke set met interessante manier om een ei te koken.

We hebben een in alle opzichten voortreffelijke avond gehad bij Riverside.
Zeer gastvrij ontvangen, bediening vriendelijk en professioneel.
Verrassingsmenu was heel smakelijk, geserveerde wijnen combineerden goed met gerechten, deskundig toegelicht. Wij voelden ons welkom en thuis.

Restaurant The Riverside is located on a historic site in Maarssen. In 2021, the restaurant has undergone a complete metamorphosis. For example, it has been given a contemporary modern design where you can enjoy yourself in a relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen, led by chef Tom Vermeulen, has also been given a metamorphosis. The menu changes four times a year and is all about surprise. Perfectly composed flavor explosions where every bite should be a surprise. In short, a wonderful place for a nice lunch or dinner.
