Paar kleine verbeterpuntjes: het tochtte ietwat over de vloer, waarschijnlijk lastig om de hele zaal overal even warm te houden; de 'Thaise' viskoekjes smaakten prima, maar in Thailand heb ik er nog nooit zalm...

Paar kleine verbeterpuntjes: het tochtte ietwat over de vloer, waarschijnlijk lastig om de hele zaal overal even warm te houden; de 'Thaise' viskoekjes smaakten prima, maar in Thailand heb ik er nog nooit zalm in gehad en voor de echte Thaise smaak ontbraken de kaffir lime en de longbean; we hadden een 4 gangen diner, maar de hertenbiefstuk die we beiden wilden bestellen bleek al meteen op; daarom koos ik maar voor de Tournedos (die iets meer well done was dan de gevraagde medium) en die kostte 4 euro extra bovenop het menu: ok dat stond er ook in kleine lettertjes onder, maar ja door de haast zag ik dat net niet, aanbeveling om deze dan even apart te zetten en het nog even apart te vermelden bij het bestellen; de wijn kwam pas nadat we het voorgerecht op hadden, dat had iets eerder gekund en had ongetwijfeld met de drukte te maken.

Bij het afrekenen kwam ik tot de verrassing dat, ondanks dat we gebruik maakte van een deal, er extra kosten gerekend werd voor bepaalde gerechten. Hiervan waren we vantevoren niet op de hoogte gesteld. Het had een perfecte avond kunnen zijn, maar was het door bovengenoemde net niet.

In the spring of 2020, we opened our doors on the lively market square of Gouda. Joost Zekveld tapped into his knowledge and passion for the hospitality industry once again, giving rise to Gouds Glas. With its spacious 800 square meters, the restaurant provides a suitable space for gatherings of any size.
Upon entering, the attention is quickly drawn to the six large stained glass windows. These windows are a nod to the stained glass windows of the Gouda St. John's Church, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Each window features an image of local landscapes, buildings, or businesses. The building has five different spaces, each suitable for various occasions. It was formerly a trade hall where many weddings took place, and we are especially proud that you can exchange vows here and then celebrate with your entire party! Whether you want to dine under the glass dome in the grand restaurant, hold a meeting in the unique wine bar, or have drinks on the mezzanine or terrace, you are warmly welcome at Gouds Glas!
