"Ze eten me arm en eten me rijk" werd er bij ons in het hotel-restaurant altijd gezegd. Deze keer bij het Readthuys was het "ze eten me rijk en drinken me rijk". Ik voel me bij mijn laatste bezoek genomen/bedonderd. Ik had gereserveerd voor een Michelin-diner, maar kreeg een Amuse-menu voorgeschoteld. Navraag achteraf, bij de gastvrouw, beweerde ze dat dat het zelfde is. Wat wil je, ze kan en mag toch niets anders beweren. Echter bij navraag bij vergelijkbare restaurants en de diningcity-organisatie bleek dat er wel degelijk een verschil tussen beide menu's te zitten. Dus ik voel me terecht bedonderd. Moet echter er wel bij zeggen dat het personeel erg voorkomend en je als gast uitermate netjes aanspreekt en zich presenteert. Dat in tegenstelling tot de gastvrouw zelf. Ze kijkt je niet aan als je aan tafel met haar praat en dan komt er slechts een kort "twee woorden" antwoord, helaas. Mijn eerder bezoek aan het Readthuys was vele malen beter en echt een Michelin-menu en heb ik ook als zodanig gerecenseerd. Dus als je hier reserveert vraag op voorhand of je een Michelin-diner of een Amuse-menu kunt verwachten. Krijg je dat laatste dan voel je je achteraf bekocht. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar, meer kan ik er niet van maken.
We hadden een 10-gangen menu waarvan de verschillende gerechtjes prima smaakten en de bediening gaf er duidelijke uitleg bij.
